Dinosaur Crochet Patterns: The Dinofly

I have a dinosaur-obsessed kid who also LOVES stuffed toys. He calls them his “buddies”, and his collection has almost entirely taken over his bed. That’s why I love dinosaur crochet patterns.

This free crochet pattern was inspired by my boy, who loves anything quirky and different. The Dinofly (dinosaur+butterfly) is a cute crochet pattern that will set imaginations alight.

When I was learning to crochet, I relied on free crochet patterns and crochet patterns for beginners. If you’re in the same boat or just want some quick crochet projects, you might enjoy my Bobble Basket, Bobble Fringe Bag, or Halloween Earrings.

When I started making toys, I scoured the internet for free amigurumi crochet patterns. If you want something easy or are looking for a quick crochet project, you might like my Crochet Pocket Frog. I also have some amigurumi patterns (and other fun options) in my Etsy shop.

So, I hope you enjoy making your own Dinofly as much as I enjoyed designing it.

Leave a long tail. Using your needle, sew the nose closed. It doesn’t have to be to neat because you are going to sew the nose section over the join.

Details

You can personalize your Dinofly as much or as little as you like. I embroidered eyes but otherwise kept it simple. You could change up the wing colour or add details like spots.
