Free Crochet Pattern: Crochet Pocket Frog

Sometimes, you just want a cute, quick crochet pattern, and this crochet pocket frog certainly ticks all the boxes! It’s also the perfect way to use up scrap yarn.

This free crochet frog pattern is perfect for markets. You can add a keychain or sell them as “Worry Frogs.”

I made a bunch for my boys and their classmates after they had to release the frogs they found at school. They were super upset to say good-bye to their frog friends. The frogs….not so much!

I’m an impatient crocheter, so quick crochet projects are where it’s at. Let’s dive into it.

Crochet Frog Free Pattern

  • 2.5mm crochet hook
  • DK cotton (I used Raaesah)
  • Scissors
  • Needle for attaching eyes
  • Stuffing

Crochet Terms (US)

mr – magic ring

sc – single crochet

sc inc – single crochet increase (work 2 sc into the same stitch)

ch – chain

sl st – slip stitch

hdc inc – half double crochet increase (work 2 hdc in the stitch)

Notes

I haven’t included stitch counts because this pattern is super forgiving. And in the spirit of honesty, I’m all about winging it a bit on quick crochet projects.

You can use any yarn you like for this pattern; just adjust your hook size accordingly. Changing yarn will make your crochet frog bigger or smaller.
